Who you are handing it to

A neighborhood office, not a call center.

Overnight Filing is a small tax preparation office in North Hollywood. One CPA, twenty years of returns, one phone number, and a return finished while the rest of the Valley is asleep.

Meet your preparer

You will deal with the same person from start to finish.

Gayane has prepared federal and California returns for individuals, freelancers and small business owners since 2006, and opened Overnight Filing in North Hollywood in 2023 with one idea: that a straightforward return should not take three weeks and four unanswered voicemails.

There is no account manager, no ticket queue and no handoff to a seasonal hire. The person who takes your first phone call is the person who prepares the return, sits down to review it with you, and picks up when you call in July about a letter from the FTB.

Credential: Certified Public Accountant, licensed by the California Board of Accountancy, with an active PTIN on file with the IRS. A CPA licence carries unlimited representation rights before the IRS, which means we can act for you on a notice rather than refer you elsewhere.

Why overnight

The idea is not speed for its own sake.

It is that the waiting is the part people actually hate.

The evening is the quiet part

Returns get prepared after the phone stops ringing. No interruptions, no three-clients-deep waiting room, nothing rushed to make a 5pm handover.

You are still in the loop

Fast does not mean filed behind your back. Nothing is transmitted until you have sat down, seen the numbers and signed.

One trip, not four

The checklist happens at drop-off, so we find the missing 1099 while you are still in the room instead of emailing you about it on Thursday.

How we work

Four things we do not do.

  • We do not quote a price after the work is done
  • We do not promise a refund amount before the return is prepared
  • We do not disappear on April 16
  • We do not hand you to someone else halfway through

If a deduction you are hoping for is not allowable, we tell you at the desk. A return that survives scrutiny is worth more than a bigger number on the day.

Serving the Valley

Where our clients come from

Most of our clients live or work within a few miles of the office — NoHo Arts District regulars, Burbank crews, Van Nuys small business owners, and drivers who spend all day on the 101 and want this handled in one stop.

North Hollywood

The home office. Walk-ins, drop-offs and Saturday appointments from January through April.

Burbank & Toluca Lake

Production freelancers, crew with several 1099s a year, and small studios.

Van Nuys & Sherman Oaks

Contractors, shop owners and single-member LLCs that need the books tidied first.

Studio City & Valley Village

Itemized returns, rental property owners and households with income from more than one source.

Not in the Valley? We prepare returns for clients across the Los Angeles area, and documents can be sent electronically if coming in is not practical.

Common questions

About the office

How do I verify your credential?

Every paid preparer must have a PTIN with the IRS, and you can look up any preparer in the IRS Directory of Federal Tax Return Preparers. A California CPA licence can be checked by name through the California Board of Accountancy's public licence lookup. Ask at your appointment and we will show you where to look.

Are you open outside tax season?

Yes. We are open year-round, Monday to Friday. Saturday hours run January through April. Back taxes, amended returns, bookkeeping and quarterly estimates are year-round work.

What languages do you speak in the office?

English, Armenian and Russian. If it is easier to explain your situation in Armenian or Russian, say so when you book and we will make sure that is who you sit with.

Can you represent me if the IRS audits my return?

That depends on the credential — representation rights before the IRS are not the same for every type of preparer. Call us with the notice in hand and we will tell you plainly whether we can represent you or whether you should be speaking to someone else.

Come and meet the person who will file it.

Fifteen minutes at the desk is usually enough to know whether we are the right office for your return.
